The Ultimate Guide to Viewing Disney Dreams That Soar with a Family Kristi DeRubertis, July 8, 2024July 8, 2024 One of my top Disney Mom tips for the summer is to not miss out on Disney Dreams That Soar, the brand new drone show at Disney Springs. Whenever I mention it, I usually get a surprised reaction from whoever I’m talking to. But seriously, it’s amazing! Kids of all ages, and even adults who are kids at heart, will absolutely love this state-of-the-art show. Picture this: hundreds of high-tech drones “dancing” in the sky, all choreographed to iconic Disney music and dialogue from beloved Disney movies. They create towering structures that are 400-feet tall and form images of your favorite Disney characters from movies like Toy Story, Coco, Dumbo, Peter Pan, Up, Star Wars, and more! The show takes place every night at 9:00 PM and 10:45 PM, from May 24 to Sept. 2, and lasts for 9 minutes. Just keep in mind that if the winds are too strong, the show might be delayed or canceled. Now, let’s talk about how to make the most of this drone show, especially if you’re with your family. It can get a bit chaotic, especially with little ones, so finding the best viewing spot is key. That’s where I come in to help you out. Let’s dive in! The best spot to watch “Disney Dreams That Soar” is along Lake Buena Vista on the West Side of Disney Springs. This area is home to the Disney food trucks, AMC Movies at Disney Springs 24 theaters, and Drawn to Life presented by Cirque du Soleil. The viewing area opens up about an hour before the show starts, and the walkway along the viewing area is closed until then. Dreams That Soar Official Viewing Area To access the viewing area, follow the signs that direct you to enter through the walkway west of the House of Blues. You’ll find an entry point by the water at this spot. This area tends to fill up fast, especially for the 9 p.m. show, so I suggest grabbing a spot early for the first show or sticking around for the second one. In the viewing area, I’ve rated three spots from best to decent: Best: Sit along the water directly behind Starbucks and Summer House on the Lake. This spot is great because there are tables to sit at and a long concrete ledge that’s perfect for enjoying the show. Second best: Next to the House of Blues, on the lawn. Decent, but not the greatest: The restaurants and general area of The Landing at Disney Springs. I also recommend making a dining reservation for an outdoor table at places like Summer House by the Lake or Jaleo. These spots offer outdoor seating with views of Lake Buena Vista. Be prepared for a wait if you don’t have a reservation. Remember, arriving early is key. Aim to be at the queueing area by 7:45 for the 9:00 show. If you want a prime spot with no one in front of you, get to Disney Springs even earlier and keep an eye on the line. For the 10:45 viewing, plan to be in line by 9:30. The later show is usually less crowded, especially on weeknights. After the show, consider hanging back for a bit to enjoy the view of the water as the crowd clears out. If you’re heading to your car, take advantage of the empty parking garages by walking around, grabbing a dessert, or doing some shopping. These are just suggestions based on what works for my family. You know what’s best for your kids and your situation. Enjoy the show! Disney Mom Life Family Friendly Attractions Walt Disney World disney familydisney parksdisney worldwalt disney world
