These updates include a new parking and transportation hub, major additions to Disney California Adventure Park, and significant infrastructure improvements designed to accommodate expanded attendance and new attractions. New Parking Structure and Transportation Hub to Enhance Guest Arrival A new parking structure and transportation hub is coming to the east side of Disneyland Resort, on a section of the current Manchester cast member parking lot. This new facility will add approximately 6,000 parking spaces and include dedicated areas for shuttle services, rideshare pick-up and drop-off, and guest security screening. Access will be streamlined with a dedicated entry from Disney Way, reducing congestion and improving traffic flow throughout the resort area. A key highlight of the plan is a new pedestrian bridge over Harbor Boulevard, which will lead to a redesigned esplanade and provide direct public access to the parks. This new transportation hub is expected to begin construction in fall 2026 and will serve as a foundational element supporting future expansion. Infrastructure Designed for Growth and New Attractions This phase of infrastructure development is a critical first step in preparing Disneyland Resort for exciting upcoming attractions. Future plans include: Doubling the size of Avengers Campus with two all-new attractions A new “Coco”-themed ride, celebrating the beloved Pixar film An immersive Avatar destination, based on James Cameron’s blockbuster universe These enhancements are part of Disney’s long-term investment strategy to increase capacity, enrich the guest experience, and introduce cutting-edge themed entertainment. “Coco” Attraction Coming to Paradise Gardens Park Area Construction on the new “Coco”-inspired attraction is set to begin in Fall 2025, in an area located near Paradise Gardens Park and Pixar Pier. The space is currently used for backstage operations and will be transformed to welcome a vibrant new experience honoring Pixar Animation Studios’ hit film. This new attraction reflects Disney’s commitment to storytelling and cultural representation through immersive experiences. Avatar-Themed Experience to Replace Hollywood Backlot Area Disney California Adventure Park will also be the future home of a new Avatar-themed experience, which will be located in the current Hollywood Backlot area. This project is in early development, and while specific timelines have not yet been announced, it will bring a new level of immersive world-building to the park. To make way for this transformation, Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue! will close in early 2026.
