🚨 BREAKING: GROUND DELAY issued at MCO, effecti 🚨 BREAKING: GROUND DELAY issued at MCO, effective immediately 10/30/25

Flights to MCO are experiencing significant delays. Averaging about 161 minutes (nearly 3 hours), due to a ground delay program implemented because of staffing shortages in Orlando. Earlier today the FAA warned there would be no certified air traffic controllers working tonight, and is now relying on air traffic control supervisors to help keep flights moving.

If you’re traveling with kids, here are a few airport survival tips to make the wait a little easier:

🧩 Create an airport scavenger hunt — Have your kids spot certain signs, colors, or airlines.
🍕 Turn snack time into an adventure — Let them pick one “special” treat from an airport shop.
🎬 Download shows or movies now — Wi-Fi can be spotty when everyone’s streaming.
✈️ Storytime — Have them look out the terminal window, pick an airplane and make up a fun story about it. Where did it come from? Where’s it going? Are there any famous people on it?
🚶‍♀️ Walk it out — Explore terminals and burn some energy before boarding.

💡 Pro tip: Follow your airline’s app for real-time updates before heading to the gate — many are adjusting departure times as conditions evolve.

Disney’s Memory Maker- Memories Beyond Selfies, but is it Worth the Price?

Kristi DeRubertis, July 18, 2024July 18, 2024

While you’re visiting Walt Disney World to enjoy the magic together with your friends or family, Disney PhotoPass Service is there to snap the photos you’ll treasure for a lifetime. But what do you do with all those PhotoPass photos? You could order a few individually and pay per photo, or you could purchase Memory Maker and receive unlimited downloads of every single PhotoPass picture that is taken on your vacation.

Think of Memory Maker as your secret weapon when it comes to capturing magical moments at the happiest place on earth. From iconic Disney Parks landmarks to attractions and character meet-and-greets, these photos are a perfect way to preserve your Disney memories.

With Memory Maker, you can download and share all of your one-of-a-kind photos and videos, plus those of select Friends & Family linked to your My Disney Experience profile. The vacation add-on also includes:

  • Photos at more than 100 locations across the Walt Disney World Resort. This includes iconic spots at all 4 parks, select character meet and greet locations, select attractions, portrait studios, and even at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique.
  • Over 75 unique magic shots including Super Zoom and Tiny World magic shots
  • Access to create, download, and save your Disney PhotoPass video memories

Here’s How It Works

  1. Get your photo taken- PhotoPass photographers are available to take your photos at more than 100 locations across Walt Disney World Resort.
  2. View in the My Disney Experience App- After linking your photos to your Disney account, you can view them in the My Disney Experience app or at Disneyworld.com/PhotoPass.
  3. Download your photos- Activate your Memory Maker to get unlimited downloads of your photos. Access from the app or on the web for 45 days from the date they are taken.

Pricing

Memory Maker One Day- This includes all of your photos and videos from one day of your choosing. Price: $75

Memory Maker During and Post Vacation- Includes all of your vacation photos and videos taken within 30 days of activation. Price: $210

Memory Maker Advance Purchase- Save when you buy in advance! Includes all your vacation photos and videos taken within 30 days of activation. Price: $185

In my opinion, the advance purchase is the best option. If you were to purchase the one day, you will immediately regret your decision and end up purchasing more days. Where you’ll save money in the long run is the advance purchase. I usually never purchase a photo package in advance, especially when it comes to school photos for my kids. Nine out of 10 times I hate the way the photos turn out and then I’m stuck with them. Advance purchase of Memory Maker is something you won’t regret. Trust me, you will love almost, if not all, of the photos.

Getting Started with Disney PhotoPass

As Disney’s expert PhotoPass Photographers capture your vacation memories, it’s a snap to link and preview your Disney PhotoPass photos and videos! Once linked to your Disney account, you can see all your images in your gallery online or on the My Disney Experience app.

To link photos and videos, use your MagicBand, MagicBand+, Disney Magic Mobile digital pass, admission card, Memory Maker card, annual pass or Disney PhotoPass card (available from any of our photographers). Just pick whichever option works best for you. Photo preview walls will also continue to be available at the exits of select attractions where you can tap your mobile device, park admission card, MagicBand or MagicBand+ to link your photos to your account.

A few tips for linking attraction photos and videos:

  • Use a mobile device with Bluetooth® technology enabled for the My Disney Experience app.
  • Make sure to sign in to the My Disney Experience app.
  • Keep your mobile device out of Low Power mode while onboard.
  • Please note that a smart watch can’t be used to automatically link attraction photos and videos.

Attraction Photos and Video Locations

  • Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin
  • DINOSAUR
  • Expedition Everest – Legend of the Forbidden Mountain
  • Frozen Ever After
  • Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind
  • Haunted Mansion
  • Pirates of the Caribbean
  • Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith
  • Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
  • Slinky Dog Dash
  • Space Mountain
  • Test Track
  • The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror
  • TRON Lightcycle / Run presented by Enterprise

Is the Cost Worth the Convenience?

So you’re taking your family to Walt Disney World- the place where memories are made, dreams come true, and wallets get a workout. Disney’s Memory Maker aims to capture all those unforgettable moments during your visit to the parks and package them into digital keepsakes for you to treasure forever. But is the cost worth the convenience?

YES.

Disney Memory Maker offers unparalleled convenience and ease of use, seamlessly integrating with the Disney experience to ensure that you get the most out of your magical vacation. Simply scan your MagicBand or photo card with the Disney PhotoPass photographers, and your photos will be linked to your account for easy access and download.

With Disney Memory Maker, I’m able to say goodbye to awkward selfies and hello to beautifully composed photos that truly capture the joy and wonder of my family’s Disney vacation.

The ultimate Memory Maker selling point for me is….well, me.

I’m the planner of the vacation, the coordinator of chaos, and the one who often ends up behind the camera taking the photo. As a Disney mom, I fully embrace Memory Maker. It takes the stress out of trying to capture every special moment myself. Memory maker allows for me to relax, enjoy the magic of Disney, and trust that professional photographers are capturing all the smiles, laughter, and unforgettable experiences. Also, and I know I’m not alone in this, my kids smile better when someone else is taking a photo. Do yours do that too? don’t know what that’s about but when I’m behind the camera I usually end up with one looking in the wrong direction or another with a finger up their nose. That literally never happens with the PhotoPass Photographers.

At the end of the day, Memory Maker offers more than just snapshots. It encapsulates the essence of joy, togetherness, and the magic of Disney. With its seamless integration, professional photography, and unique ability to preserve priceless moments, Disney Memory Maker has become an indispensable companion for my family and millions of other families like mine, seeking to relive their Disney adventures time and time again.
