The Magic Behind Walt Disney World’s Baby Care Centers Kristi DeRubertis, September 18, 2024September 18, 2024 Baby Care Centers at Walt Disney World provide a multitude of benefits to families visiting the magical theme park. These centers offer a safe and welcoming environment for parents to take a break and attend to the needs of their young children. Families can rest and recharge in the comfortable and air-conditioned facilities, complete with seating, changing tables, and nursing rooms. This allows parents to care for their little ones in a stress-free and supportive environment. Located within each Walt Disney World theme park, Baby Care Centers are complimentary spaces designated for guests with toddlers and infants. These tranquil, air-conditioned areas provide a variety of amenities and services for childcare. Currently, Care Centers are “Hosted by Huggies,” providing families with young children a private and peaceful retreat. Upon entering the Care Centers, guests will discover spacious changing areas, cozy seating, private nursing rooms equipped with rocking chairs and easily accessible outlets, restrooms, and TVs playing beloved Disney classics. Even older siblings can find enjoyment and relaxation in this haven. In addition to essential amenities for diaper changes and feedings, these meticulously designed Care Centers also offer conveniences such as water filter stations, sinks, bottle warmers, and microwaves. And let’s not overlook the availability of highchairs for mealtime. Care Center Amenities Disney World’s Baby Care Centers offer a variety of amenities for parents on vacation. Some standard amenities you can expect to find include: Changing Tables: A convenient place for diaper changes. Feeding Areas: Comfortable seating areas are provided for parents to feed their babies. Nursing Rooms: Private spaces equipped with chairs for nursing mothers seeking privacy. Microwaves: These are available to warm up bottles and baby food. Highchairs: For feeding older babies and toddlers. Baby Supplies: Diapers, wipes, formula, baby food, sunscreen, and over-the-counter medications may be available if you’ve run out or forgotten something. Play Areas: Some care centers have small play areas to entertain older infants and toddlers. Restrooms: Clean and accessible restrooms are typically available for parents to use. Sink Facilities: For washing hands or bottles. Comfortable Seating: Spaces for parents to take a break and relax with their little ones. Information and Assistance: Friendly staff members are on hand to provide information and assistance to parents. In the event that you happen to forget any essential care items, rest assured that you can typically find what you need at care centers located within Disney World. These centers are well-stocked with a variety of items that cater to the needs of parents with infants and young children, such as diapers, wipes, formula, food, sunscreen, over-the-counter medications, and other necessities are all available to purchase. And surprisingly, the prices aren’t much more than you would pay at your local Target or Walmart. This convenience proves especially beneficial for parents who find themselves in need of restocking while enjoying the parks. Lost Children A child who becomes separated from his or her parents while in the park will be escorted by a Cast Member to the Baby Care Center. Once there, the child will be looked after until the parent comes to claim the child. Care Center Cast Members The team of Cast Members at the Disney Care Center is made up of carefully selected staff members who have a wealth of experience, training, and a genuine passion for working with children. Each team member goes through thorough background checks and training to make sure the kids in our care are safe and well taken care of. From early childhood educators to seasoned caregivers, every cast member is committed to creating a nurturing and stimulating environment for young children to thrive in. They know all about the facilities and amenities at our care centers and are always ready to help and support parents. Locations Magic Kingdom– The Magic Kingdom Care Center has recently been updated and now features adorable Alice in Wonderland theming. Even though it’s not as big as the locations in EPCOT or Animal Kingdom, it has everything you need. There are the same number of changing tables, bottle warmers, filtered water, a private bathroom, a nursing room, and supplies for purchase. To go along with the Alice in Wonderland theme, the movie plays on a loop and there are seats and building blocks for the little ones to take a break. This is probably the busiest location, most likely because it’s super convenient. But don’t worry, I’ve never had to wait for a changing table and there are always plenty of Cast Members around to help. You can find this awesome Care Center between Caseys Corner and The Crystal Palace. EPCOT– Located beside the Odyssey Pavilion and near the entrance to World Showcase, this location is likely the largest. There is a large seating area with tables and chairs so your family can take a break, eat a snack, charge your devices, and refill your water bottles. There is also another, smaller room with Disney movies playing to occupy older siblings or for everyone to enjoy. Maybe the nicest feature, this Baby Care Center offers the most restrooms for little ones and their families. Hollywood Studios– This is the smallest of Disney World’s locations and is tucked inside the same location as Guest Services at the very front of the park. This usually means awkwardly cutting through the Guest Services line. There is also often a line for the changing tables and this Baby Care Center lacks much of an area to sit and feed your little one. The one pro of this location is the toddler-sized potty for those little ones braving the world of potty-training. Disney’s Animal Kingdom– Tucked away to the right of Creature Comforts, aka Starbucks, and right before the bridge to Africa, this location offers all the highlights of the other locations. It also seems to be one of the most under-utilized of the other parks. My favorite feature of this Baby Care Center is the large activity room with tables, chairs, and plenty of seating for the whole family. There is a TV with Disney movies as well as coloring pages and snacks for purchase. For this reason, this location seems the most toddler-friendly. This would be a great location for young families to enjoy their Starbucks while also taking care of diaper changes and feedings. The only con of this location is the small changing tables. The other three locations feature large padded changing tables which make it easier to have your diaper bag easily accessible on the changing table. Baby Care Center Tips Visiting baby care centers at Disney World can make your experience with young children much smoother and more enjoyable. Here are some tips to consider: Know the Locations: Familiarize yourself with the locations of the care centers in each Disney World Park you plan to visit. They are typically marked on park maps or the park’s official website. You can also check out the MyDisneyExperience app. Plan Ahead: Incorporate visits to the care centers into your itinerary, especially around feeding and diaper-changing times. This can help avoid unnecessary disruptions during your day at the park. Bring Supplies: While care centers do offer some essential items for purchase, it’s a good idea to bring your supplies, such as diapers, wipes, and snacks for your kiddos. Utilize Facilities: Take advantage of the amenities provided, including changing tables, feeding areas, nursing rooms, and play areas. These facilities are designed to make your visit more comfortable and convenient. Take Breaks: Use the centers to take breaks and rest with your child, especially during hot or busy days at the park. It’s a quiet and comfortable space to recharge. Ask for Assistance: Ask the staff if you need help or have any questions. They are there to assist you and can provide valuable information and support. Be Patient: During peak times, centers may be busy, so be patient and courteous to other families using the facilities. Stay Hydrated: Remember to stay hydrated for yourself and your child, especially in the Florida heat. Many centers have water fountains or bottle-filling stations. The Baby Care Centers at Disney are truly more than just a diaper-changing station. They provide families with a much-needed break to recharge and relax. Whether it’s for nursing or calming a restless toddler, these facilities offer a space for everyone in the group to regroup, reset, and prepare to fully enjoy the magic of their Disney vacation.
