Guests booking a Disney Cruise Line voyage on or after this date will only need to place a 10% deposit—a reduction from the previous 20% requirement. This change makes it more affordable than ever to lock in a magical vacation at sea. For reservations made on or before June 17, 2025, the original 20% deposit requirement remains in effect based on the terms confirmed at the time of booking. Key Policy Changes for Disney Cruise Bookings 10% Deposit for New Reservations Starting June 18, guests making new Disney Cruise Line reservations will only be required to pay 10% of the voyage fare upfront. This applies to most sailings and helps families budget more easily while securing their cruise plans in advance. Cancellation Fee Adjustments Cancellation fees will now align with the deposit amount: For new bookings made on or after June 18, 2025:If the reservation is canceled during the deposit cancellation fee period, the cancellation fee will be 10% of the voyage fare. For bookings made before June 18, 2025:If the guest paid a 20% deposit, the applicable cancellation fee will also be 20% of the voyage fare. For Concierge Guests:Deposits will remain non-refundable under all circumstances, as per current policy. Modifications to Existing Reservations Guests with existing reservations may choose to cancel and rebook under the new 10% deposit policy if they are outside the cancellation fee period. Be aware that standard cancellation penalties will apply for modifications made within the cancellation fee window. This flexibility allows guests to take advantage of the updated policy while ensuring transparency around rebooking and fees. Updates to Onboard Placeholder Deposits Disney Cruise Line is also adjusting the terms for Onboard Placeholder Reservations: For sailings of 7 nights or longer, guests who add a sail date to their placeholder will only pay a 5% deposit. If cancelled within the deposit cancellation fee window, the cancellation fee will also be 5% of the voyage fare. There is no longer a three-day grace period when converting a placeholder reservation—a deposit is now due at the time of placeholder conversion, whether done online or through the Contact Center.
