🚨 BREAKING: GROUND DELAY issued at MCO, effecti 🚨 BREAKING: GROUND DELAY issued at MCO, effective immediately 10/30/25

Flights to MCO are experiencing significant delays. Averaging about 161 minutes (nearly 3 hours), due to a ground delay program implemented because of staffing shortages in Orlando. Earlier today the FAA warned there would be no certified air traffic controllers working tonight, and is now relying on air traffic control supervisors to help keep flights moving.

If you’re traveling with kids, here are a few airport survival tips to make the wait a little easier:

🧩 Create an airport scavenger hunt — Have your kids spot certain signs, colors, or airlines.
🍕 Turn snack time into an adventure — Let them pick one “special” treat from an airport shop.
🎬 Download shows or movies now — Wi-Fi can be spotty when everyone’s streaming.
✈️ Storytime — Have them look out the terminal window, pick an airplane and make up a fun story about it. Where did it come from? Where’s it going? Are there any famous people on it?
🚶‍♀️ Walk it out — Explore terminals and burn some energy before boarding.

💡 Pro tip: Follow your airline’s app for real-time updates before heading to the gate — many are adjusting departure times as conditions evolve.

8 Reasons Why a Disney Cruise Is the Best Girls’ Trip You’ll Ever Take

Kristi DeRubertis, March 6, 2025March 6, 2025

If you and your best friend are looking for the ultimate getaway, a Disney Cruise is a must-do experience! While Disney may be known for its family-friendly atmosphere, its cruise ships offer a luxurious, stress-free, and adventure-packed escape that’s perfect for an adults-only girls’ trip. From world-class dining and exclusive entertainment to spa days and tropical excursions, here’s why a Disney Cruise should be at the top of your travel bucket list.

1. Stress-Free Planning = More Time for Fun

One of the best parts about booking a Disney Cruise for your girls’ trip is how effortless the planning process is. Your cruise fare includes:

• Accommodations with stunning ocean views

• Unlimited meals and snacks

• Broadway-style entertainment

• Adult-only lounges and bars

• Poolside relaxation

• Access to private islands (on select itineraries)

Instead of worrying about coordinating flights, hotels, and dinner reservations, everything is taken care of—so you and your bestie can focus on making memories.

2. Indulge in Luxury at the Senses Spa & Salon

No girls’ trip is complete without a spa day, and Disney Cruise Line delivers the ultimate relaxation experience. The Senses Spa & Salon offers:

• Luxurious massages and facials

• Aromatherapy steam rooms

• A private outdoor rainforest retreat (select ships)

• Manicures, pedicures, and hairstyling services

TPM PRO TIP: If you’re looking for a VIP experience but not interested in paying tons of money for spa services, I strongly suggest purchasing a day pass to the Rainforest Room. The Rainforest Room is part of the Senses Spa on Disney Cruise Line and is available on the following ships: Disney Magic, Disney Wonder, Disney Dream, Disney Fantasy, Disney Wish, and the Disney Treasure. 3. Sip Cocktails at Adult-Only Lounges & Bars

Yes, Disney Cruises have bars—and they’re amazing! Each ship features sophisticated lounges and themed bars that serve craft cocktails, wine, and champagne in a kid-free environment.

Some must-visit spots include:

• Palo & Remy – Upscale, adults-only dining experiences available on select Disney Cruise Line ships

• Enchanted Rose – A Beauty and the Beast-themed lounge on the Disney Wish cruise ship. It’s an elegant, upscale bar inspired by the live-action film, offering sophisticated cocktails in a stunning setting.

• Nightingale’s – A sophisticated piano bar on the Disney Wish cruise ship. It’s inspired by Cinderella and named after the song “Sing, Sweet Nightingale” from the classic Disney film

• The Haunted Mansion Parlor – A themed bar aboard Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship, the Disney Treasure. Inspired by the iconic Disney Parks attraction, this lounge offers an immersive experience that transports guests into the eerie and whimsical world of the Haunted Mansion.

I also suggest a mixology class or a wine-tasting seminar for a fun, interactive way to toast to friendship!

4. Dance the Night Away at Exclusive Nightclubs

When the sun sets, Disney Cruise Line transforms into a lively adults-only playground. Each ship has an entertainment district with nightclubs, live music, themed parties, and DJ sets where you and your best friend can dance the night away.

Don’t miss:

• Silent Disco Parties – Dance with wireless headphones and choose your own music channel

• Live Piano Bars – Sing along to your favorite tunes with dueling pianists

• Karaoke Nights – Belt out Disney classics (or your favorite girl-power anthem!)

And yes, you’ll even find a late-night snack menu to refuel after hitting the dance floor.

5. Soak Up the Sun at Adult-Only Pools & Serenity Bay

Escape the crowds and relax in a tranquil, kid-free oasis at the adults-only Quiet Cove Pool or the infinity-edge Satellite Falls Pool (on select ships). These exclusive areas offer comfortable loungers, shaded cabanas, and poolside cocktail service—perfect for sipping a piña colada while catching up with your bestie.

If your cruise includes a stop at Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay, be sure to visit Serenity Bay—an adult-only beach with hammocks, private cabanas, and a full-service bar right on the sand.

6. Experience Broadway-Caliber Shows & Movie Premieres

Disney Cruise Line is famous for its award-winning entertainment, and a girls’ trip wouldn’t be complete without a Broadway-style show or a movie night under the stars.

Highlights include:

• Beauty and the Beast (Disney Dream)

• Frozen: A Musical Spectacular (Disney Wonder)

• Disney’s The Little Mermaid (Disney Wish)

• Star Wars & Marvel Movie Premieres (First-run films shown on board)

Whether you’re belting out Disney tunes or watching the latest blockbuster, these experiences will make your trip unforgettable.

7. Shop & Splurge on Exclusive Disney Merchandise

Shopping is a must on any girls’ getaway, and Disney Cruises have boutiques filled with exclusive merchandise you won’t find anywhere else. From designer handbags and jewelry to Disney Cruise collectibles, you’ll find plenty of souvenirs to remember your trip.

For luxury lovers, select ships also feature duty-free shops with high-end brands like Pandora, Tiffany & Co., and Dooney & Bourke.

8. Explore Stunning Destinations Together

Disney Cruises sail to some of the most beautiful destinations in the world, including:

• The Bahamas & Caribbean – White-sand beaches and crystal-clear waters

• Europe – Mediterranean adventures in Italy, Greece, and France

• Alaska – Breathtaking glaciers and wildlife excursions

• Mexico – Colorful culture and vibrant nightlife

For an extra adventure, book a shore excursion like a catamaran cruise, snorkeling tour, wine tasting, or a private beach cabana.

A Disney Cruise isn’t just for families—it’s the perfect luxury escape for best friends who want to relax, indulge, and create magical memories together. With adult-only lounges, incredible dining, spa treatments, and exotic destinations, this trip will be one for the books!

TPM PRO TIP: Link your reservations. If you and your friend each have your own reservation and state room, be sure to link your reservations together. While linking reservations for a Disney cruise doesn’t guarantee anything, it does increase the likelihood that you’ll be seated together for meals and activities, as well as joining staterooms if that’s something you’re looking for. I went on the Disney Wish with my Disney bestie a little over a month ago and having joining staterooms made it even more magical.

So, what are you waiting for? Grab your bestie, pack your bags, and set sail on the ultimate girls’ getaway!
