Disney Lorcana is a collectible trading card game set in the enchanting realm of Lorcana, which launched in 2023 with Disney Lorcana: The First Chapter. In the game, you’ll take on the role of an “Illumineer,” with the power to wield six magical inks in order to summon glimmers – reimagined versions of Disney characters infused with the magical qualities of the ink they represent. 

Each ink (amber, amethyst, emerald, ruby, sapphire, and steel) enhances different parts of a character’s personality, powers, and appearance, making for some truly unique gameplay. Collect cards, build decks, and trade amongst friends and fans of this immersive trading card game.

Halloween is almost here, and the release of Whispers in the Well is also drawing near. This season of spells and spirits is shaping up to be the perfect way to gear up for the next Disney Lorcana trading card game set, which boasts new Epic cards and one new Enchanted card with iridescent foil – perfectly matching this haunting theme. And guess what? We’ve got a first look at four of these hard-to-find cards for you now!  

It was already announced that glimmers of detectives from Disney’s Zootopia, Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde, were on the case, but they aren’t the only crime solvers appearing in this set. Glimmer versions of Mickey Mouse and his pals have taken on the role of Ghost Hunters, and these spectre seekers are helping to solve the mystery of the Whispers that will also be puzzling players. Donning their detective best and brandishing the most sophisticated sleuthing tools, the gang is ready to put on their thinking caps, search for clues, and help crack the case.

We are just a few weeks away from Disney Lorcana‘s Whispers in the Well hitting shelves, and there are lots of sinister surprises in store with this new trading card game set. It is no surprise that Villains feel right at home in the deep, dark depths of the shadowy Inkwell Caverns, and you’ll soon discover a bad bunch of scoundrels, showcased in the signature Lorcana style. 

The Whispers in the Well set includes cards spotlighting some of the most fearsome villains from Disney, and we have an exclusive sneak peek for you. Among the baddies featured in this set, fans will find the three Super Rare cards and one Legendary villains card we’re excited to reveal today. These cards highlight glimmers of wickedly powerful characters, including Magica de Spell from DuckTales, David Xanatos from Gargoyles, Hans from Frozen, and Shere Khan from The Jungle Book.

Following the success of Fabled this summer, Ravensburger is preparing to release the next set of Disney Lorcana called Whispers in the Well. Joining the game this fall, this new set will introduce a brand-new classification of cards for players to experience. 

As we shared previously, glimmers are special versions of Disney characters unique to the realm of Lorcana. Whispers, a new variant of glimmer appearing for the first time in Whispers in the Well, are strange specters with a chilling twist. These figures may feel vaguely familiar but also have an air of intrigue to them – it is unclear where they come from because they are only partially formed, having been summoned from a damaged lorebook page.

It is up to players to solve the mystery of their origin, making Whispers in the Well feel like a frightfully fun set to dive into this time of year.

In order to unlock a Whisper’s full potential, players must use a new Boost mechanic to trigger powerful abilities adding another layer of strategy and a fresh element for all fans.

If that wasn’t enough to get you excited, we also have an exclusive reveal for you today here on the Disney Parks Blog – 3 new Super Rare cards featuring new “Whisper” characters that can be found as part of the upcoming Whispers in the Well set!

For even more eerie energy, properties like Disney The Black Cauldron and the TV series Disney Gargoyles are joining the game for the first time in Whispers in the Well. To help solve the mystery at hand, fan-favorite Disney detectives from Zootopia, Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde, are on the case and will also be making an appearance.

The pre-release period for Whispers in the Well begins at select Disney Store locations and game stores on November 7, and will be available for purchase everywhere starting November 14.

Get ready to stand out, Illumineers, because A Goofy Movie is officially stepping onto the stage in the Disney Lorcana Trading Card Game this fall! 

In celebration of A Goofy Movie’s 30^th anniversary and two years since the world was first introduced to Disney Lorcana TCG, the fan-favorite father-son road trip is taking a magical detour – straight into Fabled, the next major product rollout from Ravensburger.  

The classic cast of characters from the film will make their long-awaited debut in Disney Lorcana TCG with the release of Fabled, the game’s latest booster set launching in just a few weeks.

For the first time ever, Max, Powerline, and other familiar faces will appear as glimmers in the world of Lorcana. This exciting new chapter combines beloved Lorcana icons with fresh elements, appealing to players who have been here since the beginning, those who are newly passionate about the game, and everyone in between.  

As part of this update, we’re pumped to reveal brand-new cards of Powerline and Max Goof premiering in Fabled. Whether they are common or rare, uncommon or legendary, Disney Lorcana cards all have the same standard version with the black border. These Max and Powerline cards can also be found in booster packs as a new version, Epic! Epic cards have special card frames, textures, and foil to set them apart from standard cards. Each of these cards reflects the nostalgic spirit of the film inspired by the magic and music of A Goofy Movie – reimagining the high-energy performances and heartfelt family moments through the unique Lorcana lens.

In Disney Lorcana TCG, your characters can sing Song cards if they’ve got a strong enough voice to perform it, so Max Goof – Rockin’ Teen has some powerful vocal cords with Singer 5. Of course, Powerline – Musical Superstar can’t wait to hit the stage when he hears the music start up, gaining the Rush ability if you’ve played a Song card. Part of the charm of Disney Lorcana is how the aspects of each card (the artwork, the abilities, and the stats) all combine to tell the story of a Disney fan’s favorite glimmer.

Fans at GenCon also got a look at this star-studded set during Lorcana’s 2nd Anniversary Celebration panel, which includes even more A Goofy Movie cards including: 

In addition, Fabled introduces two all-new card rarities to the game, bringing the total number to eight, with Epic and Iconic cards joining the existing six (Common, Uncommon, Rare, Super Rare, Legendary, and Enchanted).  

Fabled is launching first on August 29 at pre-release events across select local game stores and retail locations at Walt Disney World Resort, Disneyland Resort, and Disneyland Paris. Beginning September 5, the complete Fabled collection will be available for purchase wherever Disney Lorcana TCG is sold in the United States and Canada, including DisneyStore.com.

We’re thrilled to share that there will soon be another way to experience the magical universe of Disney Lorcana – puzzles! This fall, Ravensburger will launch a stunning assortment of Disney Lorcana TCG-inspired puzzles featuring original, fan-favorite artwork that will bring the game to life in a whole new way.

Available globally starting in September 2025, the collection includes six 1000-piece puzzles, each featuring iconic characters from the Disney Lorcana universe. Two of the puzzles, Amethyst and Steel, will be the first to release for fans in the United States at select Disney retailers beginning in August, and we have a sneak peek to share.

AMETHYST: Amethyst character glimmers infused with Amethyst ink are mystical and fantastical. Disney characters like Elsa, Jafar, and even a transformed Winnie the Pooh thrive by harnessing powers that are beyond imagination.

STEEL: Steel ink is all about strength, and consists of glimmers that are large, imposing, armored, or just plain powerful. As you piece together this Steel-ink inspired puzzle, you’ll find Disney’s Beast, Stitch, and Cinderella as a stouthearted knight amongst these glimmers who aren’t afraid to use brute force to accomplish their goals. 

With these new puzzles, fans can feel immersed in Disney Lorcana like never before. Each one is themed to a color of magical ink that powers the world of Lorcana, capturing the stunning artwork and vibrant imagination of this realm. 

The six puzzles, all inspired by a different ink color (Amber, Amethyst, Emerald, Ruby, Sapphire, and Steel), showcase Glimmers – reimagined Disney characters infused with the magical qualities of the ink they represent. Characters are brought to life in both familiar and fantastical ways, allowing fans to rediscover stories and visuals they already know and love. 

The designs featured on each puzzle are pulled directly from the cards in Disney Lorcana TCG, so dedicated fans will already feel right at home. Plus, each puzzle comes with a special edition Disney Lorcana TCG Mickey Mouse – True Friend promo card, giving players the opportunity to continue their collection (or start here if you’re just beginning)! 

Starting August 29, for fans in the United States, the Amethyst and Steel puzzles will only be available at DisneyStore.com, Disney Store Times Square, Disney’s Pin Traders at Downtown Disney in Anaheim, and the World of Disney store at Disney Springs in Orlando.

The other four puzzles will hit shelves and be available at retailers nationwide beginning September 1. All six puzzles will also then be available at select retailers across the globe.
